Strokers Ice House - Dallas
A BikerTrash Review

On the first weekend of October,
the BikerTrash.com and LoneStarBiker.com staff
found it necessary to make a trip to Dallas to
cover the Stevie Ray Vaughan
Memorial Ride and Concert. (Hey, I told you
it is a dirty job, but someone has to do it!)
The
trip was the perfect opportunity to visit a place
that we had heard a lot about - Strokers Ice House
Bar & Grill!
Easyriders
of Dallas, (9324 Harry Hines Blvd) has a long
history of providing new and used bikes, service,
parts, clothing and accessories to Dallas area
bikers.
No - they don't have the fanciest
motorcycle store you will ever see, just a good
setup and a great reputation among the bikers
that we have talked to.
At this dealership the fun doesn't
stop when the store closes - many times it is
just beginning. Because Easyriders Dallas also
owns Strokers
Ice House Bar & Grill adjacent to the
store.
Strokers is a real
neat concept and was planned with the biker in
mind. Although it is not obvious from the street,
the bike parking is behind the building. The whole
Strokers setup is in a horseshore arrangement
with plenty of bike parking ride in the center.
Bikers can sit inside or outside
under the covered patio, keep an eye on their
bike and ogle all of the other bikes (and biker
chicks) at the same time. Opposite the patio area
is another long covered section where the bands
are set up. Great! You can hear the band without
being totally overwhelmed by them.
When we visited on Saturday night,
live music was provided by "The Faded Blue
Band"
As
a stranger walking into Strokers you are once
again aware of that instant camaraderie and acceptance
by fellow bikers. You ride - and that is good
enough. Bikers don't care what you do for a living,
or who you are from "8 to 5". The more
important questions are about your bike.
One thing they are very proud
of at Strokers Ice House & Easyriders is they
have been very successful in attracting many different
types of people. On a Sunday afternoon, when they
have hundreds of people having fun is the best
example. They may have a banker on his high-dollar-custom
or a Road King that rides only a couple of thousand
miles a year talking to a blue collar guy who
rides everyday! Ya know what, they like and respect
each other and that is exactly what they are trying
to achieve at Strokers.
The
Fairless family (the owners) welcome all bikes
and all bikers. Even if you don't own a bike but
are an enthusiast, or just want to hangout with
bikers, you are welcome to come have a good time.
To quote the owners: "We
don't care if a guy or lady rides a custom, a
Harley, a Big Dog, a Victory or a Jap Bike as
long as they ride andrespect the others around
them that's cool. By the way, you don't have to
be a rider to hang out with us. We get a lot of
enthusiast who come in and just see what it's
all about! Also, being close to Love Field, we
get a lot of Southwest Airlines, Jet East, and
many other fine people who work in the airline
industry. Thank God for these people They keep
us in business during the week. It's almost like
we are a neighborhood bar during the week and
a motorcycle place on the weekends."
Strokers offers a
full schedule of special events such as "Monday
Night Football", A Tuesday lingerie show
and "Bike Night" with live music. On
wednesday it is "Ladies Night", Come
over Thursday for "Happy Hour" and live
music on Friday and Saturday night, Sunday afternoon
and Sunday night!
For the latest
happenings be sure to check
their events calendar.
