AMA DISTRICT 23 TOUR
Part of the Dunlop Elite 2000 Touring Series
July 10-13, 2000
Minnesota's premiere motorcycle rally is more
than just a rally - it's also a leisurely 1,300-mile
cruise around Lake Superior and an event that gives
North Shore visitors the chance to experience waterfront
vistas, fine roads, maritime and mining history, and
friendly people.
Spend four days touring around the largest lake in
the world, Lake Superior. Travel along Wisconsin's
South Shore and through the Apostle Islands, through
Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Sault locks, the rugged
Canadian shore line and Minnesota's scenic North Shore.
Total mileage is between 1120 and 1300 miles depending
on how closely you follow the southern shoreline.

Riders who complete the tour receive a beautiful
numbered cast buckle and a Circle Tour patch. Return to riding
and rally events at the Wolf's
Head Rally, beginning July 13th at the fairgrounds in Two
Harbors, MN. Rally events include vendors, daily music,
daily bike games, a light parade, guided day tours, self-guided
day rides, a Diabetes dart run, food shelf night, bike rodeo,
and more.
Wolf's Head Motorcycle Rally puts riding first and
rallying a close second. The "Wolf's Head Lake Superior
Circle Tour" runs four days, July 10 through July 13. About
the time the tour is ending, the rally begins, July 13 through
July 16 at the fairgrounds in Two
Harbors Minnesota.
The "Wolf's Head Lake Superior Circle Tour" was
sanctioned as an AMA District Tour and part of the 2000 Dunlop
Elite Touring Series on December 5, 1999. The tour runs
counter-clockwise around Lake Superior and follows the shoreline
through Wisconsin, Michigan, Ontario, and Minnesota, with overnight
stops in Marquette, Michigan, and Wawa and Nipigon, Ontario.
The Two Harbors fairgrounds is the setting for nightly
music, on-site camping, bike rodeos and games, guided
day rides, safety seminars, Wolf Howlin' contests,
vendors, and food. The public is welcome at
all events, as are families and all brands of bikes.
Motorcyclists come from all over the country and Canada
to this family-oriented rally. It is being promoted
through motorcycle clubs and enthusiast magazines
across the U.S. and Canada.
Daily scenic tours of the region will be available,
including an Iron World/Soudan Mine Tour, and an
Ely, Minnesota, International Wolf Center/Boundary
Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Tour, an Apostle Islands
Tour and a North Shore Run. Fun runs, a light
parade, bike games, and various charity events will
