Texas
Bikers Know and Love Hooters
The Hooters
in the Houston area have been involved in many benefit poker
runs during the past couple of years. Now, the Texas Hooters
are taking it one step further. Hooters has teamed up with
the Lone Star Rally.
The Custom Bike Show and the Vintage Bike Show at the Lone
Star Rally will be sponsored by Hooters of Texas. Winners
will not only get a very nice trophy but they can have (with
written permission from their wives) their picture made with
the Hooters Girls.
Hooters
Girls will also be working some of the beverage concession
areas serving up your favorite "cold ones".
When you
want the best in Buffalo Wings, Hooters is the place to go.
Don't want chicken? Try the Buffalo Shrimp. Excellent. Oysters,
Oyster Roast, Steamed Clams, More-Than-A-Mouthful Burgers
Philly Cheese
Steak and whole lot more. You can even view
the menu to help you decided before you go.
How did
all of this get started?
It was
April 1, 1983 in Clearwater, Florida and on the corner of
Gulf to Bay and Hampton Road, history was about to be made.
Six fun-loving businessmen with roots in the Midwest and with
no experience in the foodservice business were opening doors
to a restaurant with an owl logo, chicken wings as the featured
item, and girls in orange shorts. After frantically locating
a friend to show them how to start the fryers (after all,
it was April Fool's Day), Hooters was off and crawling.
That
crawl soon turned into a stride, and now Hooters is running
at full speed with restaurants opening throughout the Sunbelt,
the Rockies, the Eastern Seaboard, the beautiful Canadian
country with expansion plans for the entire U.S. and more
international markets. This success pattern was accomplished
under the guidance of Hooters of America, Inc. who recognized
the amazing growth potential of the Hooters concept early
on and secured the rights to expand nationally and internationally.
Texas
Wings, a franchise of Hooters of America, Inc., opened
its first store in 1989 at the Historic West End in Dallas,
Texas. With all of the rights to Texas, Texas Wings owns and
operates 24 stores and is still going strong!!
This
"neighborhood restaurant" concept stresses great
food, great service, reasonable prices, a relaxed atmosphere
and of course, the now famous HOOTERS GIRLS! These elements
combine to make Hooters the place for all types of people:
celebrities, sports figures and anyone who enjoys food and
FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN!

Interview
With Hooters' Own
Tricia Alvarado
(Recently
Ron Limbock of the Lone Star Rally had the opportunity to
interview the Regional Marketing Director for Hooter's Restaurants.)
When I
sat down to interview Tricia Alvarado, Regional Marketing
Director for Hooter's Restaurants, it became instantly apparent
that Hooter's success goes far beyond their incredibly good
wings and pretty staff. Hooter's is a household name in Houston
largely because of the hard work of this lady and her team
of promotional beauties.
"Hooter's
is truly a neighborhood restaurant"
says Tricia. "Houston has perhaps the strongest community
involvement of any region. Each store works hard to be a responsible
part of their own neighborhood by staying active in local
charities like the Sunshine Kids which supports programs for
terminally ill children plus many more."
"We
are involved with so many local charities there are too many
functions to count" Tricia added. "Right
now all of our stores are doing a Fire Boot donation program
to raise money for the New york Fire Department Heroes."
The Poker
Run last weekend to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer
Research saw hundreds of motorcycle riders donate thousands
of dollars and a whole day of visiting all of thearea Hooter's
restaurants. Hooter's and the motorcycle riders are a perfect
marriage.
"We
are very excited about being a sponsor of the Lone Star Rally",
says Tricia. "With the average age of the motorcyclist
being 38 and the Harley rider being 44, the customer profiles
match perfectly." "Our restaurants are packed daily
with business men and women enjoying our nearly world famous
chicken wings."
"It's
the special events and charitable programs that are really
fun", says Tricia. "Over 50% of our girls
are working their way thorugh college and enjoy the fun and
flexibile work environment that Hooter's provides."
I encourage
everyone to visit a Hooter's Restaurant soon to enjoy the
great food and fun atmosphere. Look for the famous hooter's
girls at the Rally whre they'll be the official hostess's
and sponsors of the Custom and Vintage Bike shows.
